What is Smart?
It’s a tool that was created to favor the increase of automatic processes of data management and data sharing as well as the digital assets of the product. Every company has products that contain a lot of information for its whole lifecycle regarding design, installation, maintenance, and it checks operational information in use:
- Article ID number
- Placed-in-service date
- Technical characteritics
- Documents e.g. manuals
- Videos e drawings

The Livith S.p.A. example
Sector: Production of fall-arrest safety systems and solutions for confined spaces.
Company needs analysis
Livith SpA, is an international group that manufactures products and safety systems for fall-arrest and work at height. The company manages large quantities of documents on a daily basis, from their clients, that are then transformed into quotations. These documents must be made available to whoever will access the safety systems, designed by the company, in the interests of safety.
The management of these documents required several manual steps, some of which were at a high risk of error. Livith SpA needed to streamline these procedures through automization.
In order to optimize the management of the documents specifically, Livith SpA chose to rely on the Connecta software, automizing a whole series of operations and workflow which proved to be costly in terms of time, resources, and a high risk of error.
Four different procedures were implemented:
- Sharing of detailed breakdown of the orders created
- Sharing of technical drawings of the projects
- Automatic uploading of data in the profile <<worksites>> by the end user
- Data access procedure
The additional data are uploaded by smartphone, through a linking system based on plates equipped with QRcodes.

The «web application» you can use from a smartphone and desktop computer, that deals with identifying the products, allows for the registration and consultation of acquired data.
Trace the characteristics of installations through the technical drawing of the roof created by our technicians.
Keep track of the technical and commercial history: who bought the installation, who/when/where it was installed.
Manage the installation maintenance of all the registered installations.
